After submitting my own German citizenship application and unfortunately not hearing back from the authorities beyond their stipulated timeline, legal aid became necessary. Took a prepayment of 2000 euros in March 2025 to expedite my naturalization process and sue the Ausländeramt. It's now August 2025, and all he did was write a warning letter to them in April threatening to sue (which he didn't). His office did not coordinate the content of the warning letter with me, and none of their back and forth with the Ausländeramt expedited my naturalization process. He's a nice guy but whether he's a helpful lawyer or not, I can't say. Hasn't helped me. It turned out to be a waste of money.
